The confederated tribes of Siletz Indians operate a housing program whose overall mission ensures that low income tribal members have the opportunity to obtain housing that meets his/her needs, is affordable, and provides a safe, healthy living environment. They recently incorporated a solar hot water heating system, including FlexSure Solar Tubing.
Challenges
- Tubing had to fit and contour around the tight corners to reach the hot water heaters
- Rigid piping would take hours to work with and install
- The sheer size of the job – 20 panels on a row of townhouses
Solutions
- Flexible tubing could fit around any obstacle without the hassles of cutting and threading copper pipe
- FlexSure eliminated the time necessary to cut and thread copper pipe and the need for 90° elbow fittings
Benefits
- Continuous runs allowed for bending around corners and obstacles
- Pre-insulated tubing saved time and money
- Tough cover will stand up to installation conditions
